Family-Owned Sicilian Italian Restaurant.

In the 1850’s and early 1860’s W.W. Watson operated Watson Saloon, a popular eating place housed in the building at 518 East Adams Street, opposite the south entrance of the, at the time, state house.  Presently, Di Piero’s Italian Restaurant calls the historic place home to their Ristorante Italiano.

It was here on the evening of November 6, 1860, that Abraham Lincoln celebrated his election as President of the United States.
