Art and drawing are powerful ways to relieve stress—and that’s exactly the heart of the Black History Paint pARTy experience. During this creative evening, Michelle Smith, award-winning international artist, will provide each guest with a pre-drawn image chosen by the attendee and offer personalized guidance throughout the session. With step-by-step support, guests are invited on a journey of relaxation, creativity, and fun.
A demo canvas will be displayed to show Michelle’s finished version, but everyone is encouraged to make the artwork their own and follow their unique creative path. Questions are always welcome—whether about technique, materials, or Michelle’s personal artistic journey.
In addition to creating her own work, Michelle Smith teaches and curates when time allows. She has collaborated with the Sangamon County Mural Advisory Board, Ralph Lauren, Illinois State Museum, and United Way of Central Illinois, among others.
