Come learn about cicadas, play a cicada game, and make a cicada craft. Take a walk around the Garden and collect cicada shells to add to our large collection which will be turned into mulch. Walk the Story Walk to learn facts about cicadas and see pictures of their life cycle. Every hour – Help track a decibel reading with LMG staff. How loud are the cicadas throughout the day? 

10:00-4:00 – Learn about cicadas via a webinar from Dr. Kacie Athey, U of I entomologist, which will be on repeat in the Nature Center throughout the day. 
12:00 – 2:00 – Ask the expert. Dr. Kacie Athey, U of I entomologist, will be available on the LMG deck to answer your questions about cicadas and the broods emerging this year. 
4:00-6:00 – Sippin’ and Snackin’ with cicadas – bring your favorite snack and drink to enjoy while listening to the sounds of the cicadas at LMG.
