Meet Big Ron!!!
Big Ron was built by the famed giant designer, Mark Cline. This new giant is situated underneath what Ron Metzger touts as the World’s Largest Route 66 Shield. The shield was built by Ace Sign Company in Springfield. The large giant and sign, as well as the entire complex are easily viewed from Interstate 55/Route 66 (Exit 90). Big Ron pays homage to
Motorheads owner, Ron Metzger.

A 30-foot statue of a young Abraham Lincoln holding an ax stands in front of the Illinois Expo Building at Gate 1 of the
Illinois State Fairgrounds. Sculpted in 1968 by Springfield native, Carl W. Rinnus, this representation of Mr. Lincoln, without his iconic beard, is titled “The Rail Splitter” and is a welcoming site for fair goers and tourists.

Pinky, the Pink Elephant with a Martini Glass and Glasses in Springfield, Illinois, is one stop roadside attraction lovers won’t want to miss on your Route 66 journey. This towering, bubblegum-pink pachyderm stands proudly on a trailer, sporting oversized black glasses and holding an enormous martini glass—with a bright red cherry on top—in her trunk.
