The festivities don't just happen on the 4th of July.  There are several days of entertainment and a few firework shows in the Capital City. 

July 3-5: Join Lincoln's New Salem for their Independence Day Celebration.  The celebration will feature period demonstrations and a reading the Declaration of Independence.

July 3-4: Celebrate Amercia's pastime and come cheer the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes at Robin Roberts Stadium with a fireworks show after the game.  It's a fireworks double-header at the ball park, with postgame fireworks both July 3rd & July 4th 

July 4: For the runners out there, start your 4th of July off with an early morning run at Freedom Run 2025 at Centennial Park

July 4: Knights Action Park hosts their 4th of July Extravaganza complete with music, food and a fireworks show.  Make it a full and fun 4th by hitting the Splash Kingdom water park during the day and sticking around for the extravaganza at night. 

July 4: Enjoy cold drinks, food, and Central Illinois' largest on water fireworks display at the Rock the Dock Independence Day Celebration.  Happening at the Lake Springfield Marina, the celebration also features live music.
