This Italianate mansion, located in historic downtown, has been the official residence of Illinois governors since 1855. Visitors are invited to view four formal parlors: a state dining room: four bedrooms, including the Lincoln bedroom; and a library handcrafted from native American Black Walnut. The Mansion also contains many priceless works of art – including the Lincoln table – created in 1864 from more than 20,000 inlaid wood pieces and a rare “smiling bust” of Abraham Lincoln that he actually posed for.
